A brand mention is any occurrence of a brand's name in an AI generated answer.
Why it matters
Mentions come in kinds: direct, listed among options, in a comparison or as a citation. Each says something different about how the brand is treated.
Example
"Brand X is one option worth comparing" is a listed mention. "Brand X is the best choice for this need" is a recommendation.
