AI Visibility
How often is my brand mentioned and recommended?
Example finding
Compare how each engine treats you
The engine split shows how often each platform mentions you, so the next question becomes why.
Quick answer: AI Visibility
AI Visibility reports mention rate, recommendation rate and primary recommendation rate across engines, topics, intents and markets, each computed by fixed rules from stored answers, with the eligible run count shown.
What you see
Mention rate, recommendation rate and primary recommendation rate across engines, topics, intents and markets, with the run count next to every figure.
Mention rate
The share of eligible runs in which your brand is named.
Recommendation rate
The share of runs in which your brand is actively recommended, not just listed.
Primary recommendation
The share of runs where you are the leading recommendation, when that can be measured.
Where it breaks
A breakdown by topic, intent, engine and market that finds the weak slice.
How it works
- 1
Run
Each activated prompt is run on Gemini, Google AI Overview, Google AI Mode, ChatGPT and Perplexity.
- 2
Extract
The answer is parsed for mentions, recommendations and position where meaningful.
- 3
Calculate
Metrics are computed by fixed rules from stored observations, so the same input always gives the same result.
How it is measured
Definitions come first, so numbers stay comparable from one audit to the next.
- Mention rate
- Runs that mention the brand divided by eligible runs.
- Recommendation rate
- Runs that recommend the brand divided by eligible runs.
- Eligible runs
- Runs that completed and are relevant. Failed or unavailable runs are excluded, never counted as misses.
Good to know. Engines are observed through provider APIs, which may not match what a person sees in the consumer app. Results describe your prompt set, not all searches.
Common questions
What is an eligible run?
A run that completed and is relevant to your topic and intent. Failed runs are shown separately and never inflate or deflate a rate.
Do you measure ranking position?
Position is captured where it is meaningful, for example in an ordered list. AI answers are not a ranked list, so rates matter more.
Is visibility the same as ranking?
No. AI answers name a few brands in prose. Visibility is a rate across runs, not a position on a list.
Who uses it
- Marketing lead
- A defensible visibility number for reporting.
- SEO team
- Engine and topic splits that show where to focus.
- Product marketing
- Whether the product is recommended, not merely named.
Common mistakes
Averaging engines blindly
Engines behave differently. Compare them before combining.
Counting failed runs as misses
Failed runs are excluded from the denominator.
Tracking only branded prompts
Buyers ask by need, so unbranded prompts matter most.
A short checklist
- Confirm brand facts first
- Cover each topic and intent
- Check the eligible run count
