E-E-A-T
Also known as: E-A-T
Definition
Google's framework for judging content quality: Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trustworthiness. It is not a ranking factor you can switch on directly, but a lens reviewers and some automated systems use to judge whether content, and the person or brand behind it, is credible.
Why it matters
AI systems trained partly on web content, and some that ground answers in live search results, tend to favor sources that would also score well on E-E-A-T: clear authorship, real expertise, and independent signals of trust.
Example
A medical article with a named, credentialed author and citations to studies reads as higher E-E-A-T than the same facts published anonymously with no sources.
