AI visibility tools compared: platforms, features and pricing models (September 2026)

29 September 2026 5 min read

Headline findings

  • Platform coverage varies widely, from three named platforms to eleven or more.
  • Pricing models split into published tiers, custom enterprise quotes and pricing not stated.
  • Many features are not documented on vendor pages, so a blank means unknown, not absent.

Quick answer

We compared seven AI visibility tools using only their own published pages. Platform coverage ranges from three named platforms to eleven or more. Pricing models range from published low cost tiers to custom enterprise quotes. BrandWater AI observes three engines at launch and is strongest on its reviewed brand record and evidence, and weakest on platform breadth, integrations and certifications. Approval based execution and verification are coming in V3.

Method

We read each vendor's own pages on 29 September 2026 and recorded only what they state. Where a feature is not documented we mark it as not documented. We did not use third party reviews for any feature claim. Prices change often and should be verified with the vendor.

Platform coverage and pricing model, as published
ToolNamed platformsPricing model on page reviewed
BrandWater AI3Plans from ₹999 a month, with usage credits
Profound7The pricing page we reviewed lists a free 7 day trial and custom Enterprise pricing.
Peec AI3The pricing page we reviewed shows Starter, Pro and Advanced monthly tiers plus Enterprise, but did not show exact prices in the content we could read.
Otterly.AI7Published monthly tiers on the page we reviewed: Lite $29, Standard $189 and Premium $489, with Enterprise custom, about 15 percent off annual billing, and add-ons such as extra prompts and some platforms.
Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit5Sold as a toolkit with its own pricing page.
Ahrefs Brand Radar6On the page we reviewed, custom prompts start at EUR 47 per month and the AI Visibility Index is EUR 179 per month.
AthenaHQ11The page we reviewed lists Essential (free), Starter ($295 per month) and Enterprise (custom).
Scrunch AI5No pricing was stated on the page we reviewed.

Read this carefully

A feature that is not documented on the pages we reviewed may still exist. These counts describe documentation, not product quality, and vendors change their pages often.

Where is BrandWater AI ahead, and where is it behind?

  • Ahead: a reviewed Brand Intelligence record with evidence status, diagnostic lenses such as omissions and co-mentions, and sourced usage data by platform including India.
  • Behind: platform breadth (three engines at launch), no security certification, no public API, no published pricing, and an approval and verification workflow that is coming in V3 rather than available.

How to use this comparison well

The tables above describe what each vendor publishes on its own pages, checked on one date. They are best used to build a shortlist and to prepare questions, not to decide. A missing feature means only that we found no documentation of it. Before you rely on any cell, check the vendor's current page and ask the vendor directly.

Turning the tables into a shortlist

  1. 1Write down your must-haves: the platforms your buyers use, custom prompts, the number of brands, and any security or export requirement.
  2. 2Remove tools whose documentation clearly does not meet a must-have.
  3. 3For the rest, mark undocumented must-haves as questions for the vendor, not as failures.
  4. 4Ask each remaining vendor for a written answer and a trial on the same brief.

Questions that expose real differences

  • Which of these features is live today, and which is on the roadmap?
  • Can I see the full stored answers behind any number?
  • How is each metric defined, including its denominator?
  • How are failed runs treated?
  • What can I export, and in what format?
  • What certifications do you hold today, and what is planned?

Prices and pages change

Vendors update their pages often, and prices shown here were captured on 29 September 2026. Verify anything that matters with the vendor.

What we would like readers to take from this

The most useful output of a comparison like this is a better set of questions, not a winner. Tools differ in how many platforms they cover, how they price, and how much of their product they document. Those differences matter differently to different teams, and the right choice for a large agency is often the wrong one for a single brand.

We publish the method and our own weaknesses so that you can judge the comparison itself. If you find a fact that is out of date or wrong, tell us and we will correct it and date the change. A comparison is only worth reading if the people who write it are willing to be checked.

Which tool covers the most platforms?

On the pages reviewed, AthenaHQ names eleven or more platforms and Profound names seven plus Exa Search, while BrandWater AI observes three at launch.

Are these numbers a ranking?

No. They count documentation. The right tool depends on your platforms, workflow, security needs and budget.

Why do you publish where BrandWater AI is behind?

Because a comparison that names no weakness is not credible. Buyers deserve to see the trade-offs, including ours.

Do you use third-party reviews for features?

No. This comparison uses only what each vendor states on its own pages, and marks anything not documented as such.
